Young Ladies Club aims to raise aspirations in disadvantaged young women to achieve their education and career potential by providing mentoring, confidence building activities and career workshops from positive role models.
We provide a range of programmes which include;
Mentoring Programme
Young Ladies Club partners with schools to support young women aged 12-15 who are referred to us for the following reasons:
1. Low socio economic background
2. Low attainment
3. Lack of role models
4. Challenging behaviour/engagement
5. Low confidence/ self esteem
We deliver our mentoring programmes weekly after school for two hours during term time. Young women are partnered with a mentor under the supervision of a project leader.
The two hour mentoring sessions cover self-esteem and confidence building activities in addition to academic skills.
Our programmes take place in secondary schools and mentors are with the students throughout the mentoring session.
Employability Skills Programme
Young Ladies Club develops young women’s skills and talent through our employability and skills programme to lead them to a better future in life.
We deliver our programme to young women who are:
- Recent graduates
- Current students
- Long term unemployed
- NEET’s
In order to enhance young women’s employability skills we provide:
- Spotlight talks and events with employers and recent graduates
- CV and interview workshops
- Application support & practice tests
- Work shadowing and mentoring
Personal Development Programme
Young Ladies Club personal development programme enables young women to develop their confidence and self-esteem through a variety of workshop and activities. The sessions young women participate in during the programme are:
1. Vision Board Workshop
2. Goal Setting & Motivation Workshop
3. Career Development Workshop
4. Creative Activities Workshop
5. Relationship Building Workshop
Crime Prevention Programme
Our crime prevention programme aims to reduce and prevent violence amongst young women and also enable them to change their negative behaviour and mindsets. Our programme is delivered by youth workers and provides a blend of personal development workshops, creative arts, conflict resolution and motivational strategies.
VAWG Prevention Programme
Our VAWG prevention programme helps to prevent and end violence against women and girls.
